Robin Wright

Robin Wright
Robin Wright is the diplomatic correspondent for The Washington Post and a regular panelist on NBC's "Meet the Press" roundtable. She has reported from more than 140 countries on six continents.

There is a growing pressure to change across the Middle East, says Robin Wright, and debate and activism are no longer limited to elites. For example, she cites the Eqyptian blogger Wael Abbas and mass demonstrations in Lebanon and Jordan.

Journalist Robin Wright spent a year visiting two dozen Muslim countries across the Middle East, as well as Israel. She finds that there is a "budding culture of change" across the region, a challenging of both the status quo and of extremists like al-Qaeda.

On the political front the reformers are in disarray, says Robin Wright, yet in subtle ways things are changing in Iran and debates are opening up.
