Richard B. Miller is Director of the Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions and Professor of Religious Studies at Indiana University. His research interests include religion and public life, political and social ethics, theory and method in religious thought and ethics, and medical ethics. He has published widely on the ethics of humanitarian intervention, civil society, multiculturalism, and religion and public intellectuals.
He is currently at work on a project entitled "9/11, Radical Islam, and the Disquiet of Equal Liberty." His publications include Casuistry and Modern Ethics: A Poetics of Practical Reasoning (1996) and Children, Ethics, and Modern Medicine (2003).
