Monti Aguirre

 
     
 
Monti Aguirre is the Latin American campaigner for the International Rivers Network where she supports local movements for the protection of rivers, examines the effects of new hydro-projects, and designs strategies to counteract their negative effects on the environment and indigenous peoples' rights, and is co-producer of the 1991 documentary "Amazonia: Voices From the Rainforest." She has also worked with the Environment Action Coalition and El Puente Academy for Peace and Justice in New York City.
