Julia Taylor Kennedy joined the the Carnegie Council's GPI Global Internship for summer 2009. She is an M.A. candidate at Yale University's MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies.
Her research interests are international economic development and migration between Latin America and the United States. Prior to her return to academia, Kennedy hosted and produced 51%, a nationally distributed public radio program. In a wide-ranging journalism career, she has also worked for NPR and washingtonpost.com.
Kennedy speaks Spanish and Portuguese. She graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Spanish and Journalism from Northwestern University.
