Guy Sorman

Guy Sorman is a notable French author, philosopher, economist, and journalist.

His books include Empire of Lies: The Truth About China in the Twenty-First Century.

"There are not six million Tibetans in China," says Sorman. "There are one billion." In other words, if the many Chinese who are not direct beneficiaries of economic development could express themselves, they would say the same things as the Tibetans.

Guy Sorman discusses the Communist Party agenda and the best way for the West to deal with China. He believes, as does the Dalai Lama, that boycotting the Beijing Olympics would be a mistake.

"Legally, all Chinese people don't have the same rights," says Sorman. He explains the identity card system, which means for example,if you were not born in Shanghai, you have no legal right to live there.
