Guobin Yang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Asian and
Middle Eastern Cultures, Barnard College. His research interests include
contemporary Chinese culture and society; voluntary associations; new media; and
popular protests.
Guobin Yang is the author of numerous academic articles on civil society in
China, and is currently completing a book manuscript on Struggles for a
Chinese Civil Society in the Information Age.
