The Hon. Mr. François Delattre

 
     
 
François Delattre

The Honorable Mr. François Delattre is currently the Consul General of France at the French Embassy in New York. He was head of the French Embassy's Press and Information Service in Washington, D.C. from 1998 to 2002.

A career diplomat, Delattre was on the Foreign Policy Team of President Chirac from 1995 to 1998, with particular responsibility for security and defense issues. Before coming to New York, he was deputy chief of staff to Dominique de Villepin, then foreign minister. In his career at the French Ministry, which he joined in 1989, he has held posts at the French embassy in Bonn and in the Foreign Ministry's Department of Strategic Affairs and Disarmament.

François Delattre holds a degree in international law and is a graduate of Sciences Po and ENA.
