Francis Fukuyama is Bernard Schwartz Professor of International Political Economy at the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
A prolific writer, his most well-known book is The End of History and the Last Man (1992), in which he argued that the progression of human history as a struggle between ideologies is largely at an end, with the world settling on liberal democracy after the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
His most recent books are State-Building: Governance and World Order in the 21st Century (2004) and America at the Crossroads (2006).
