Elbridge A. Colby

Elbridge A. Colby is an adjunct staff member at the RAND Corporation. He is a member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies and an expert adviser to a government commission on strategic issues.

Previously, he was special assistant to the chief of staff in the office of the director of National Intelligence and a staff member of the Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction, where he focused on the Iraq WMD intelligence investigation and served as a member of the report drafting team. He also was a political officer with the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad and with the State Department’s office of Israel-Palestinian Affairs.

He has published articles in Policy Review, Orbis, the National Interest, the Washington Times, and the Yale Journal of International Law.
