Christopher J. Sigur is President of The Japan Society of Northern California. He was a Japan-based consultant on Asian affairs (1995-97), vice president for Asia at the Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs (1989-95), and director of training and outreach at the Japan Society in New York (1979-87).
A former Peace Corps volunteer in Korea, Mr. Sigur speaks Korean and Japanese, and has 19 years experience in Afghanistan, Indonesia, Korea and Japan.
