Andrew March is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Yale University. He received his Ph.D. in Politics from Oxford University. His research interests are in contemporary political philosophy, Islamic ethics and political thought, and comparative political theory. His dissertation "Islamic Doctrines of Citizenship in Liberal Democracies: The Search for an Overlapping Consensus," won the 2006 Aaron Wildavsky Award for Best Dissertation in Religion and Politics from the American Political Science Association. His most recent publications are "Islamic Foundations for a Social Contract in non-Muslim Liberal Democracies" (American Political Science Review, Vol. 101, No. 2 (May 2007)) and "Liberal Citizenship and the Search for an Overlapping Consensus: The Case of Muslim Minorities" (Philosophy & Public Affairs, 34:4 (Fall 2006)). His book on Islamic doctrines of citizenship in liberal democracies is forthcoming from Oxford University Press (2008).
