Description:
February 20 marks the annual UN's World Day of Social Justice, which seeks to promote concrete activities in accordance with the goals of the 1995 World Summit for Social Development and the 24th Special Session of the General Assembly.
This panel will address the imperative issue of global economic recovery and the state of job growth worldwide. Representatives from the International Labour Organization (ILO), the U.S. government, business, and academia will provide insight into the policies and actions that have been taken to address this multi-faceted crisis, as well as posit suggestions for further action to be taken to generate decent jobs. The panel will be moderated by Carnegie Council's Devin Stewart, Senior Fellow and Program Director of Global Policy Innovations.

The discussion will flow from the following questions:
- How is the global economic recovery proceeding?
- What is the quality of the new jobs being created?
- How can the ILO Global Jobs Pact help steer policy?
