Description:

CLICK HERE FOR THE LIVE WEBCAST AT 6:30 PM EST.

This expert meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the emerging findings from a 6-month research project on web 2.0 and corporate accountability launched by the Harvard Kennedy School's Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative in July 2009 and conducted by Sea Change Media.

This project aims to map and analyse the variety of ways in which social media enable both companies and their stakeholders to expand and enhance the ways business accounts for its non-financial performance. Models covered in the mapping will include both existing examples from the fields of corporate accountability and corporate social responsibility, and examples from other contexts that offer interesting potential for cross-fertilisation. A summary of initial results of the research will be shared with participants in advance of the meeting.

This will be a panel discussion, moderated by Jane Nelson, Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative at Harvard University. The discussion will focus on the following questions:

  • Are there any significant models the research has missed?
  • What are the most promising and/or scalable models for the future?
  • Where might we see the most interesting potential innovations in this field?
  • What avenues are most likely to be fruitful for follow-on research?
